Leicester Chinese Community Centre

The Chinese residents in Leicester began to organise as a community group in 1979. Its 1st venture was a Chinese youth club which held in a Chinese restaurant on Melton Road. The club expanded rapidly and eventaully moved to a new premises above a Chinese supermarket on Melton street. In 1987, Chinese Ladies Circle was established. This group recognised that there was a need for a community centre. Leicester Chinese Community Centre (LCCC) was established at its present address in November 1989. The Centre was supported and assisted by Leicester City Council.
